The 2004 reunion was held the 16th through the 18th of September at the Radisson Hotel in Seattle, Washington. Rex Raymond served as coordinator and organized our three day event. Everyone seemed to have a great time socializing with each other. All three days, the attendees took advantage of the hospitality suite enjoying a relaxing time looking through photo albums, viewing Author Walter "Bud" Stuhldreher's two books that included stories about the HAVEN. Many attendees took full advantage of all the fun places and activities of Seattle including downtown shopping, Pikes Place Market and visits to the Space Needle. Saturday evenings dinner included a period music selection to honor the 40's, 50's and 60's which were the years the HAVEN was in service as well as a visual presentation of photos from the same eras. Dinner included house baked bread, green salad, garden fresh vegetables with herb dipping sauce, fresh fruit, darnes of salmon, saute'ed sirloin strips, lemon petter chicken, steamed vegetables and some wonderful desserts. Rex coordinated the evening including giving out several door prizes which everyone seemed to enjoy. After dinner the Navy Memorial table ceremony to honor those shipmates lost or missing was held with Eternal Father playing in the background. Following dinner, the reunion meeting was held deciding to hold the next 2006 reunion in Seattle. The evening concluded with the playing of Anchor's Away and filing into the hospitality suite for everyone to say their goodbyes. It was great to hear from all of you and am looking forward to seeing as many of our shipmates at our 2006 reunion! |
