The 2002 USS HAVEN AH-12 10th Biannual reunion was held September 18th through the 22nd at the Wyndham Hotel, Colorado Springs, CO. Arrangements were made for interested reunion attendees to tour the Air Force Academy, the Garden of The Gods, Old Colorado City with it's boutiques, novelty shops, art galleries, and chocolate shop. Also on the tour list was the Olympic Training Center Museum. Several attendees got together Friday evening for dinner at the Flying "W" Ranch which included several little shops, experiencing a real working cattle and horse ranch, a chuckwagon supper with live western entertainment. Saturday evening was our banquet with the cash bar opening at 1700, followed by dinner at 1830. Our menu in included our choice of Prime Rib of Beef, Chicken Marsala or Salmon Jardiniere. Entertainment was provided to us by a local Colorado Springs Air Force band which was outstanding. Reunion attendees voted for Seattle WA as the location for the 2004 reunion with Rex Raymond as Reunion Coordinator. Our shipmate, Paul Masar did an excellent job as Reunion Coordinator with never a dull moment. From start to finish, Paul had all sorts of activities planned and available depending on everyone's interests. Paul also arranged a Courtesy Room at the hotel that served as a great congregation room for socializing, and looking through all the HAVEN memorabilia. The reunion concluded Sunday the 22nd with all the attendees posing for a group photo which is posted above. Everyone seemed to have had a great time during our get together and was looking forward to the 2004 Reunion. The goal of our next reunion is to focus the efforts in locating as many HAVEN Shipmates as possible and improving our means of contacting each other.
